Madrid, Spain – Dutch international Denzel Dumfries is on the verge of completing a sensational move to Real Madrid from Inter Milan, according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The deal, reportedly worth €20 million, is said to be in its final stages, with only formalities remaining before the experienced right-back can officially become a Real Madrid player. Sources close to the negotiations indicate that a personal agreement has already been reached, paving the way for one of the summer’s most talked-about transfers.

Dumfries, 30, has been a key figure for both Inter Milan and the Netherlands national football team in recent years. Since joining Inter from PSV Eindhoven five years ago, he has established himself as one of Europe’s most dynamic full-backs.

During his time in Milan, Dumfries made 207 official appearances, scoring 27 goals and providing 28 assists, while helping the club secure two Serie A titles. His attacking power, athleticism, and leadership qualities have made him one of the most sought-after defenders on the market.

The transfer has reportedly received the approval of incoming head coach José Mourinho, who views Dumfries as the ideal successor to club legend Dani Carvajal. Carvajal is expected to leave Madrid at the end of the season after an illustrious career that saw him make 451 appearances for Los Blancos.

However, Dumfries will not be guaranteed a starting role immediately. He is expected to compete with Trent Alexander-Arnold for a place in Real Madrid’s starting lineup as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of a new era.

In addition to Dumfries, Real Madrid are also believed to have secured the signing of Ibrahima Konaté, who is expected to arrive on a free transfer from Liverpool FC.

If finalized, the move would mark the biggest challenge of Dumfries’ career and another major statement of intent from Real Madrid as they prepare for the upcoming season.
